tight Lams

How do you get tight lams when the top and (http://maplered.com) lam strip has a slight bow?
Our bridge saw leaves steps when we mill so i would be looking to do it by hand (http://maplered.com) . We are planning to lam and (http://maplered.com) chisel back off to convert to 6 cm
